Greetings From Germany: Thunderbike’s Bad MBT
By Marcus Slater
While Harley may be trying to increase it’s “accessibility” by trying to fight sterotypes, there are still plenty of bikers and builders who aren’t really trying to please everyone. German customs builder Thunderbike is one of them. They don’t build cozy bikes. They build things like the Bad MBT.
The Bad MBT began it’s life as a Cross Bones soft-tail before Thunderbike got their hands on it. What the “mbt” stands for, we don’t know, but it’s probably something lewd and awesome. Apart from doing project bikes like this one, Thunderbike also produces parts. Many of the individual bits can be bought individually, which is useful, considering the costs of a sending a Harley via airmail must be brutal.
Styling a custom comes down to expressing an attitude, just like any other art. In the case of Thunderbikes, that message is clearly, bad-ass. Nothing says serious like monochrome spiked wheels. Ben Hur would be jealous.
Thunderbike takes flat-black to high art. Like it? Let us know in the forums!
