Texas man infamously declared ‘I don’t car’ after striking motorcyclist in road rage incident.

The 69-year-old Texas man who infamously declared “I don’t care” after intentionally swerving into a motorcyclist and causing it to crash received a swift bit of justice this week when he was sentenced to 15 years in prison. William Sam Crum was convicted of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Video of the road rage incident, which took place back in October of 2015, quickly went viral and received millions of views. The 37-year-old motorcyclist, Eric Sanders, and his passenger, Debra Simpson, 38, were both injured in the incident. Sanders suffered only minor scrapes, but Simpson wound up in intensive care with various injuries, including a broken arm.

Crum claimed that a spider bite on his leg caused him to lose control of his car. But it’s clear from the video that he was simply trying to block Sanders from passing him. And his actions following the crash tell a different story as well. Crum quipped that had Sanders not been “breaking the law” by passing on a solid double line, the crash would have never occurred.

Clearly, passing in a no-pass zone is not exactly a good idea. But intentionally ramming your car into someone for doing it isn’t either.

Crum is honestly lucky that no one got seriously hurt or killed. And we’re glad to see him off our public roads for the next 15 years.
