Oh Shatner! Check Out Captain Kirk’s New Ride – a Rivet
William Shatner is boldly going where many have gone before, including Harley-Davidson, inside the garage to build a three-wheeler with a lot of help from some friends.
And not any old trike, but a steam punk machine called a Rivet. The former Starship Commander and Priceline pitchman is excited about his partnership with American Wrench in forming Rivet Motors.
The so-called “Landjet” is powered by a V8 engine and the design evokes the spirit of a B-17 Bomber and something a Klingon might ride in the Star Trek world.
“RIVET was born out of the desire and passion to build machines, which like those who ride them, have command, presence and personality… Rivaling the experience you would get from any vehicle on the street,” according to the company’s man made manifesto.
Shatner, 83, plans on driving his custom crafted, one-of-a-kind machine from Chicago to Los Angeles this summer.
“I’ve been across this country on my thumb, in sports cars, in trucks, with a dog, with a family, but I’ve never crossed the country on a motorcycle,” he explains in the video above.
“I wanna do that, and I’m gonna do that on this new Rivet motorcycle. Why don’t you come along with me?”
Hate to break it to you Bill, but it’s not a motorcycle. Still we can’t wait to see Shatner pull into Sturgis on this monster.
