‘H-D Forums’ Member Shows Off Gorgeous ’73 Shovelhead

Nickolas64 from Virginia recently posted a thread showing off his drop-dead gorgeous 1973 shovelhead. We’ve been on a bit of a shovelhead kick lately. It seems like the Harley community at large has taken on a renewed interest in the AMF era bikes lately, and we’re right there with them.
Nickolas64 says he’s been riding for almost half a century. He’s owned several bikes in that time, and he says this one is his favorite. We can understand why. We’re smitten by the emerald green paint and tasteful chrome.
The touring accessories — fringed leather saddlebags and a detachable windshield — make us want to run away for a weekend and forget about everything.
Out of Mothballs and Back on the Road
Nickolas64 has had the bike for a few months, and like all older bikes, it needed a little bit of work to get it back into tip-top shape. Most of what this bike needed was just a few minor adjustments and basic maintenance. Now, he says it’s a great runner and a sweet ride. We haven’t ridden it, but we’re inclined to agree with the latter.
The past four months have been a whirlwind of work to transform this classic shovelhead from a tired old dog into the beauty queen seen here. We’d say all that work was well worth it.
Now that it’s all fixed up, we hope that Nickolas64 can relax and enjoy riding the bike as much as possible this summer. He certainly deserves it. In our opinion, this shovelhead couldn’t ask for a better owner. Nice work, Nickolas64!
