Everywhere you go, always take H-D Forums with you.

There’s a lot to love on H-D Forums, but one of our favorite things is watching riders and their personal journeys with their motorcycles. Back in February of 2018, jeffro09 started a thread about the like-new 2007 Night Rod his dad gave him.

It was a very nice gesture by his father, who had made the tough choice to give up riding. It was the right move, though – the bike wasn’t getting used much. By July of that same year, jeffro09 had already put close to 2,000 miles on the Night Rod.

He kept right on riding through 2019. As before, he’d share photos of the bike parked next to interesting landmarks. It was fun to see all of the adventures that this cool, blacked-out V-Rod went on.

Getting Famous in the Forums

As the thread was updated, it grew popular, too. There’s a lot of love for the dearly departed V-Rod here on H-D Forums, and this thread is consistently near the top of the VRSC section.

In the three years he’s owned it, jeffro09 has put around 6,000 miles on the Night Rod. That’s pretty impressive, considering that it’s not his only bike. He’s already had it out this year once already.

Along with his wife, jeffro09 enjoys touring on his black and orange Ultra Limited. While he spends more time on that bike, he still makes a real effort to enjoy his Night Rod. Between long distance touring and street performance, he’s got the best of both worlds.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that he leaves the Night Rod at home when he wants to go on a long ride. One photo showed a trip of over 400 miles in a single day. That’s pretty hardcore, especially on a performance bike like the Night Rod.

Harley-Davidson has a lot of cool new bikes out right now. However, we still miss the V-Rod. It’s a unique bike, and a cool chapter in the history of Harley-Davidson.

We especially like this blacked out Night Rod variant. We’re glad that H-D Forums members are keeping the torch lit for V-Rod owners all over.
