Q-Tec Engineering is converting iconic trikes into modern do-it-all haulers.

No matter what your particular individual taste in bikes may be, we can all agree on one thing: The Harley Servi-Car is a particularly cool piece of kit. Essentially a trike with an enclosed storage box, the Servi-Car was happily employed by a lot of folks over the course of several decades.

Despite their popularity, Harley ceased production of the faithful Servi-Car after 1975. Even though many police departments continued to use them well into the ’90s. So if you want one, you’ll have to score a solid used Servi-Car, which isn’t as easy as you might think. But there is another alternative: aftermarket conversions.

A company by the name of Q-Tec Engineering is keeping the Harley Servi-Car legend alive by converting trikes into do-it-all haulers. The beauty of this kind of conversion is that you get the best of both worlds: modern conveniences and reliability with classic styling and utility. But let’s say you’re the impatient type who prefers instant gratification. What if you want a modern Servi-Car conversion right now?

Well, you’re in luck. Because we recently spotted this 2015 Harley Servi-Car conversion for sale on eBay. With a Q-Tech Q3R Classic package applied, this trike looks fantastic in brown/gold. But it also promises to ride like a dream with a new independent suspension. We certainly can’t think of a better (and cooler) way to haul your gear on a long distance trip.

If you have a soft spot for nostalgia but need or want modern conveniences, a modern Servi-Car conversion seems like the perfect compromise. The Servi-Car forged its place in history because of its usefulness, after all. And we’re glad that at least one company out there is working to keep the legend alive.
