Harley-Davidson Museum’s ‘Drag Racing’ Exhibit is a Blast
Drag racing is an American pastime. Whether it’s done behind the wheel of a powerful Detroit muscle car, a beefy Harley-Davidson, or even a full-blown dragster, there are few things in the world that can recreate the feeling of blasting down a drag way.
Very few people in the world can understand what it’s like to travel at speeds upwards of 300 mph, and most of them are fighter jet pilots. The rest are the lucky ones that for some reason or another were able to make their way to the glamorous world of car or motorcycle drag racing.
The Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin recently opened a new exhibit at their 10,000 sq. ft. garage, which if it wasn’t a must see for all motorcycle fans already, it’s now even more sacrilegious to skip the pilgrimage.
“The amount of speed depends on how much money you want to spend and how much risk you have in you, but jet fighter pilots and astronauts are the only other people on earth who understand what a top fuel driver goes through. It’s quite the extreme sport.” said David Kreidler, curator of the museum to Onmilwaukee.com
In case you can’t make it to the museum, check out this gallery with some of the exhibit’s highlights.
