Harley-Davidson, Wounded Warrior & Adam Sandoval Team Up
Mission: Thank You Honors American vets with new bikes.
In its latest effort to honor U.S. service personnel, Harley-Davidson has teamed up with Adam Sandoval (founder of ScootinAmerica, an initiative that focuses on giving back to our military members) and Wounded Warrior Project to launch Mission: Thank You.
“At Harley-Davidson, we believe every American should be able to experience the profound freedom of motorcycle riding, especially those who risk their lives to protect ours,” a rep from Harley-Davidson tells Street Chopper.
Sandoval is asking every American to nominate a military member — past or present — who has dedicated his or her life to protecting our freedom by submitting their story of sacrifice, strength and courage of service. You can nominate a service member and follow Mission: Thank You on AdamSandovalRides.com.
Launched at San Diego Harley-Davidson on May 18, Mission: Thank You’s first recipient was veteran Shane Kruchten, who received a Purple Heart for a brain injury suffered while serving as a Marine in Iraq.
‘We’re proud of the nearly 100 years of support Harley-Davidson has provided to the men and women who defend our country and our freedom.’
Sandoval’s nationwide Mission: Thank You project aims to recognize those who have served or are serving to protect our freedom. The project will be giving away a total of eight Harley-Davidson motorcycles powered by new Milwaukee-Eight engines. A panel consisting of Sandoval, Wounded Warrior Project representatives, and Harley-Davidson leadership will select which seven other deserving military members will be honored with new motorcycles. Honorees will also receive a lifetime membership to the Harley Owners Group and they can give a free Harley-Davidson Riding Academy class to a loved one. Based on America’s nominations, Sandoval will make seven more stops on his cross-country mission.
Along with Mission: Thank You, Harley-Davidson honors our veterans and active duty personnel with the Harley-Davidson Riding Academy New Rider Course, free motorcycle storage for deployed military personnel, and Operation Extend the Ride, which extends the factory warranty for the number of days deployed to account for the balance of the remaining warranty period.
“We’re proud of the nearly 100 years of support Harley-Davidson has provided to the men and women who defend our country and our freedom,” says Matt Levatich, president and chief operating officer at Harley-Davidson.
