Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special Nearly Hit By Deer

While out riding his Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special, this biker was understandably startled when a deer came flying out of nowhere.

As motorcyclists, we’re faced with all sorts of potential dangers every single time we throw a leg over our bikes. This can include everything from various debris or slick surfaces on roadways to other vehicles with drivers who aren’t paying attention to their surroundings, along with countless other dangers that threaten to take us down, literally speaking. However, deer can obviously pose a big problem to motorcyclists as well, which is abundantly clear in this viral video shot by a Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special owner while he was out riding on one fine weather day.

As we can see in the short clip, the Harley-Davidson rider is just out enjoying a nice cruise with his girlfriend following behind him on another bike, but out of nowhere, we can clearly see a rather large deer come flying in from the side. The whole thing happened so fast, in fact, that the rider in front is seemingly oblivious as to what happened – or, at the very least, was a bit bewildered as to how the whole thing went down.

Celebrating the near miss…

After a few seconds of double-checking his mirrors to see if the deer hit anything, the rider in front can be heard talking to his girlfriend in the back, after which he gives the camera a thumbs up and a little fist bump in celebration of his near-miss. We certainly can’t blame him for being a bit elated at the outcome, given how badly things could have gone if the deer was just a split-second slower or faster as it leaped across the road.

In fact, plenty of Harley-Davidson riders encounter wildlife on a regular basis – whether it be squirrels, deer, or just about anything else – and many aren’t quite so lucky. Hitting a deer in a car can cause serious enough carnage, but doing so on a motorcycle can obviously lead to far worse results – at best case, perhaps some damage to the bike and a few broken bones, but we’ve also seen more than one fatality occur in motorcycle-on-deer accidents, too.
