Harley-Davidson Raffle Raises Big Money for Charity

When there’s a worthwhile cause in need, no helpful group rallies together quite like the Harley-Davidson community!

If you’re a non-profit organization in need of funds, there aren’t many more effective ways to raise them than with a Harley-Davidson raffle. Kimberley Cranbrook Hospice Society of Cranbrook, British Columbia is well aware of this fact, raffling off at least one Harley-Davidson motorcycle every year. For the fifth consecutive year, an excited crowd awaited the results of this year’s raffle, which raised a whopping $28,000 for the charitable organization.

Two lucky winners walked away with brand-new bikes: an ST Heritage Classic Softail and a Street XG 750A. The bikes, as with every other year to date, were graciously donated by local dealer Harley-Davidson of the Kootenays. With the help of a number of gracious citizens and community businesses, this year’s raffle sold out pretty quickly. And, more importantly, helped out a very worthwhile cause.

“Proceeds of the money raised will help fund programming, volunteer training, continuing education, and coordination of hospice and bereavement services,” honorary fundraising chair Dr. John Nesbitt told East Kootenay News. “All hospice services are provided free of charge.”

Dealing with impending loss is difficult enough, so it’s encouraging to see that hospice care centers like Kimberly Cranbrook strive to make those situations a little easier for all involved. Not to mention a little more comfortable.

And they have an always generous Harley-Davidson community to thank for yet another year of successful fundraising. Because as we’ve learned time and time again, no group is more willing to do whatever it takes to help those in need!
