Harley-Davidson Offers Dream Internships for Students

Harley is giving eight media-savvy riders a free bike & fun-filled summer.

In the old days, you were lucky if an internship involved anything other than serving as an errand boy for some suit. Maybe you got to fetch lunch or refill their coffee, hoping desperately that some of their professional magic might rub off on you. Today, internships are clearly much, much cooler. At least if you score one with Harley-Davidson, that is. Because the legendary motorcycle maker is giving eight lucky college students the internship of a lifetime!

The whole experience kicks off, of course, with a stint in H-D’s Riding Academy. Once the students graduate and demonstrate the skills to ride safely, the real fun begins. That’s when each receives the keys to a brand spankin’ new Harley-Davidson motorcycle! Their only mission? To document the experience of a summer spent living the dream. Literally.

There is some “work” involved, of course. The students, who must be social media savvy, report to Harley-Davidson’s marketing and social media team. But in return, they not only get to cruise around on a brand new bike, they’ll also have the opportunity to attend some killer events. Which, of course, includes H-D’s 115th Anniversary celebrations in Milwaukee and Prague.

If all of that sounds like your idea of a “working” summer, all you have to do is create a video, write an essay, whip up a photo collage, or create any piece of content expressing what freedom means to you. Then, send it on over to FreedomInternship@Harley-Davidson.com before the deadline of May 11.

Oh, and to qualify, you must be a junior or senior level college student (or equivalent) or recent graduate, and at least 18 years of age. And you’ll need to be pursuing a career in social media, communications, public relations, or marketing. But if you’re one of the lucky eight selected, this promises to be a summer you’ll never forget!
