Harley Advertising for the “K” Bike

Before the push to get Hipsters riding Sportsters, before the black on black wardrobe, with chains and tattoos, Harley Davidson catered to the everyman.

The “K” bike, as it was called, was designed as a “do-all” motorcycle. This most likely would be called a scrambler or dual sport in todays marketing terms. HD even mentions those activities in the ad. A bike for riding across the country and any other activity you want. I like the performance option of the “KHK” listed right beside it with high lift cams and more performance.

Of course the “K” bike eventually morphed into the Sportster as we know it.
