‘Good is Bigger’ with Trikes, Polish Custom Garage Says

You may be asking yourself right now: “They make custom trikes? I had no idea anybody made custom trikes.”

That may be because you, like me, do not own a Harley Davidson trike that can be turned into a custom. But, many people do these days and here is an absolute beauty.

Yes, as the population ages – particularly the Greatest Generation and post-Vietnam War generations – those big hogs are getting heavier and heavier to horse around a parking lot. A lot of the old-timers are downsizing and a lot of them are also riding trikes now – and they couldn’t care less what the rest of us think or say.

Dubious ‘Cool’ Claim

This new crop of HD trikes came out in 2009 with the introduction of the Tri Glide, and the stable now is made up of the Freewheeler, Road Glide 3 and Tri Glide Ultra. The prices go from $30,000 for the Freewheeler to $36,500 for the Ultra.

So there are more than a few custom trikes out on the streets these days. A quick look at Cycle Trader or Chopper Exchange shows some very nice work by different shops.

In fact, there are those who even say trikes are now “cool.”  TopSpeed makes the claim that HD trikes got cool when the Motor Company introduced blacked out trim on some of the newer models.

I don’t know about that, but I do know that this custom we’re talking about today, by the Nine Hills custom garage in Poland is a big, comfy and easy ride.

In fact, AutoEvolution calls it a “Three-Wheeler Limo with no roof.”

‘Good Can Be Made Bigger’

The Poles call this project the “Korrida” and it is based on a 2018 Tri Glide, just like their earlier custom trike they call “Salamandra.”

Both of their trike customs fit into one of their sayings: “Everything that is good can be made better, bigger…”

How true, especially in America. In any case, the Korrida is a luxury vehicle by anybody’s definition, it’s just got three wheels and the driver is out in the open air, big as all outdoors. Just looking at it brings to mind words like plush, comfy and living room sofa.

Make Way for the Black

You could start with the “leather quilted and red-threaded upholstery” that gives the trike a tastefully expensive look. Then there is the “noble steering wheel” – we refer to these in the US as “handlebars” – and the Roland Sands air cleaner. Also, check out the LED-black front lights.

The trike has a Rinehart exhaust system so it sounds like a Harley. It also sports additional rear turn signals by Motogadget and comes with custom crash bars, fenders and axle covers.

All of this is wrapped in black, red and gray. You will notice there is no chrome at all on the trike, like there is on the regular Tri Glide. That was left out on purpose, to make way for the black.

Does that make it cool? You be the judge. But, in order to qualify as a judge, you must be at least 65 years of age and be receiving social security.
