CRAZY CRIMES: Hell Hath No Fury like a Harley Hater

Cranky senior citizen loses temper, takes it out on an innocent Harley.

Attention Harley-Davidson owners, enthusiasts, and riders, especially those residing in the Upstate New York area: Beware of cranky old men with personal vendettas against Milwaukee’s finest export. Apparently, there is a loose cannon on the streets of Batavia, New York, who has a penchant for harming innocent Harleys by toppling them over on a whim.

The Daily News, which covers Genesee, Wyoming, and Orleans counties, reports that late last month, 68-year-old Batavia man Nicholas A. Cianciosi intentionally knocked over a parked 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, causing over $5,000 in damages.

The Harley hater acknowledged that what he did was against the law. Not to mention, it was asinine, too.

Few specifics are provided in the news report, such as the reason for the senior citizen’s vicious assault on the poor bike, or how Cianciosi managed to knock it over. However, it sounds like he pushed it, and the report states that the Harley hater acknowledged that what he did was against the law. And we here at HD Forums feel the need to acknowledge that it was rather asinine, too.

The cranky culprit was charged by local police with second-degree criminal mischief concering property damage greater than $1,500. Cianciosi is set to appear for sentencing in Batavia City Court on June 21. So far, we know that he’s likely already on the hook for the $5,014.78 in damages that the bike sustained. He will find out the rest of his fate later this month. However, we kind of hope that punishment for the crime involves requiring the culprit to give up his own personal vehicle and be forced to ride a Vespa for the rest of his life!
