No matter your taste in custom bikes, we’ve got something for every appetite.

We were lucky enough to attend the World of Wheels Chicago event last weekend, March 6 through March 8. If you’re into custom cars, tough trucks, and awesome motorcycles, then we highly recommend that you take the time to attend an event when it comes to your city.

If you live in or near one of the many cities hosting a show, you should definitely attend. This indoor winter show is winding down, but there are still plenty of events to attend.

If you live in or near Omaha, Salt Lake City, or Boston, you’re in luck — the show is coming your way later this month. Even our Canadian friends can get in on the fun — there’s even a show in Winnipeg!

Of course, with fears about COVID-19, many places are cancelling these shows altogether. In Cleveland, Ohio, the Piston Powered Autorama was cancelled in anticipation of a temporary ban on large gatherings.

If these upcoming shows are indeed cancelled, at least we have these excellent photos to pore over while we’re holed up inside. Without further ado, here’s five of our favorite bikes from the show!

Our Top 5 Favorite Bikes from 2020 World of Wheels

#1: Dangerous Dezign’s Sporty ‘Forty8’

Even when it comes to over-the-top custom bikes, there’s something to be said for subtlety. At first glance, this looks quite a lot like a new Sportster with bolt-ons. It’s only when you take the time to really pay attention to the details that you notice how wild this bike really is.

There’s not a lot of chrome on this bike to distract you. At first, some of the intricate details seemingly blend into the background, but not for long. Each time we look at this one, we notice something new and cool.

#2: Badass Bond Bike

This long, low bagger is named Pussy Galore, after the Bond girl in the classic “Goldfinger.” There’s airbrushed murals all over this bike paying homage to our favorite movie spy.

There’s also plenty of gold details on the engine and gold trim throughout. Themed bikes can be pretty corny, but we thing this one is pretty cool.

#3: Rolling Legend

This classic flathead is, appropriately enough, dressed up like a vintage flat tracker. When you’re building something like this, it’s all too easy to go overboard on the patina. We think that the builder of this bike got the details just right.

The paint and pinstriping is on point. We dig the distressed number plate and gauge cluster. You could have told us that this thing just got pulled out of a barn somewhere, cleaned up and put on display, and we’d believe you.

#4: Mean Green Machine

Candy lime green isn’t just for Kawasaki sport bikes anymore. It looks terrific on this 1980 Harley bobber, dubbed “Gotta Go.” We’re not sure where it’s headed, but we hope it’s our garage.

Any part not chromed is painted in this beautifully eye-searing shade of green. In a sea of black, white, grey, red, and blue, this bike stands out. We can’t get enough of unusual colors on custom bikes. Keep ’em comin’, we say!

#5: Mad Max’s Monstrously Cool Moto Machine

Our Five Favorite Bikes from World of Wheels Chicago

This custom takes the patina trend even further. It makes sense, though — it’s intended to resemble something out of  the post-apocalyptic wasteland of “Mad Max.”

It looks like it was cobbled together from parts of other discarded bikes. The end result is something entirely unique. Part of us wants to see this bike all painted and polished up, but we understand that that’s missing the point.

There you have it — our top 5 from the Chicago World of Wheels show. Which one was your favorite?
