‘Check Your Helmet Month’ Buyer’s Guide

April is Check Your Helmet Month, which is a great idea considering that April is typically the month where the snow thaws, the temperature rises, and it’s time to take the bike out of hibernation mode.
While you probably give your bike a thorough once-over before riding, it should be noted that it’s a good idea to check your helmet, too. The materials that your helmet is made out of break down over time, and after a few years it’s not so great for protecting your noggin anymore.
If it’s time to replace your helmet, here are a few of our favorites available in the Harley-Davidson online store. First up is this classic red, white, and blue 3/4 face helmet with the iconic #1 insignia. If you think of yourself as a modern-day Evel Knievel, this is the helmet for you.
If you’re on board with a seventies throwback style but you want something a little more subdued, this flat black helmet featuring AMF-era tank graphics is just the ticket.
Everyone likes to think they look like a total bad-ass on their bike, but this modular full-face helmet could make you look like the baddest of them all, Darth Vader. Looking like a cross between the infamous Sith Lord’s helmet and a motocross helmet, this one should definitely be on your shopping list even if you aren’t a sci-fi nerd. It just straight-up looks cool.
If you’re looking for a full-face helmet that’s more subdued, this one should do the trick. With a flip-down visor and flow-through ventilation, it should be plenty comfortable, and as far as Harleys are concerned, flat black goes with everything. It’s a solid choice.
