BUILDUP A 2010 Harley-Davidson Street Bob Project

Much of the time when one is looking to buy a bike, they don’t truly see it in its current form. Whether they’re getting it used at the dealership or used off another Harley-Davidson fanatic, they simply don’t see it how it is.

Instead, one tends to look at the potential of the ride when they make a purchase. What changes they will make, how it will turn out, and how it will meet their individual needs. This is the truth, and we’re glad for it. The world would be boring if all motorcycles were left stock!

HDForums member Bandolier knows this all too well. He picked up this ride — a 2010 Street Bob — from a guy who, though he had already begun modifying the hog, had to sell out of need to buy a house.

Among other things, the previous owner blacked out the horn cover and battery cover band, added teardrop mirrors, Rush slip-on mufflers, passenger pegs and a rear seat, and a Stage I intake. Though Bandolier plans to go in a similar direction, he has still made his own plans.

He will be ordering 10.5” shocks, a Le Pera Bare Bones seat, and a Vance & Hines Shortshots staggered exhaust system. He also wants white wall wheels and some smaller necessities — such as turn signals, grips, the intake cover, the headlight visor, and et cetera. He also hopes to get the front end powder coated in the future.

This build shouldn’t take long at all, so it’s definitely worth following to completion. Once Bandolier gets his tax return he plans to buy all of the parts at once and then spend just three weeks putting all of it onto the bike!
