2000 Harley-Davidson XL883 Hugger Build

Builds can start for a multitude of reasons. Sometimes it’s out of necessity, a sort of “do or die” philosophy. Other times, it’s simply because one wants more out of their ride. In still more instances, there might be a certain displeasure has with their ride, despite it seeming rather perfect and complete to others. While this might seem odd, it is simply a result of the owner not personally caring for the ride as much. After all, what is perfect for one person might not be perfect for others!

HDForums member Cameron, who is also known by his username Cammed, has taken on a build such as this. His ride is a 2000 Harley-Davidson XL883 Hugger. Cameron bought the ride from the second owner. At the time he purchased it, the bike has thirty-six thousand miles on the odometer, had been well maintained, and had quite a few touring accessories. Despite already looking good, it wasn’t exactly what he wanted. He was, and is, more of a fan of the ’70s Trackers, Scramblers, Cafe Racers, and Brat-Style bikes. Thus, he decided he wanted to do something along the lines of an Evel Knievel-inspired ride.
