Bucket List Harley-Davidson Adventure Across the Pond

Northern France is a gorgeous road trip. It is even better with Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Friends Mark and Dan went on an adventure. Their adventure’s itinerary was cool, yet common. The two Brits planned on traversing the Channel Tunnel from the United Kingdom to France. They did do something unique, though. They rode Harley-Davidson motorcycles instead of squeezing into a sensible hatchback. Specifically, they rode a custom Sportster and a Dyna Low Rider S on a truly beautiful journey.

Motonewbrider captured the whole two day journey in typical motovlog fashion, with a camera, wind noise, and whole lot of enthusiasm. They started in the UK, with travel plans taking them through the channel tunnel, or “Chunnel” for short. Following the riders’ arrival at the Chunnel, staff were visibly disturbed by the loud report of the Sportster’s exhaust.  However, the disruption seemed worth it when the duo emerged from the tunnel. Mark and Dan rode into quaint French seaside villages and verdant rolling hills.

The journey took Mark and Dan through Le Touquet and along the coast of Northern France. “This is like something out of Top Gear,” Matt said. In addition to the magnificent scenery, the trip included paying respects to veterans’ cemeteries and watching wind surfers defy gravity. Furthermore, the motorcycle-friendly culture of European streets allowed the riders to filter, park easily, and exchange friendly gestures with French bikers.

Mark’s Low Rider S christened the trip by finishing it’s break-in period

The gorgeous landscape wasn’t the only thing Mark was excited about. This trip marked the end of the break-in period for his Screaming Eagle Twin Cam 110 engine in his Low Rider S. He kept a keen eye on his odometer throughout the trip, and the wait was worth it. As a result of his patience, he confidently revved the lazy big twin.

At first, Mark was in awe of the torque that the Low Rider S produced. It almost distracted him from the postcard worthy views. Moreover, he noticed the bike’s potential as a cruiser. The trip was as comfortable as it was spectacular, despite Mark admitting having a hangover on day two. Further, the duo’s enthusiasm was palpable at the end of the trip. Mark implored his viewers, “if you’re thinking of getting a bike, do it. Do stuff like this.” Judging from the stunning views and fun memories, it looks like the riders are on to something.
