Biketoberfest 2022: Party Spots & Rowdy Good Rides

Leave Daytona for Great Roads to Ride and Places to Party

So you suffered through one of the hottest summers on record, and now you want to finally cool off by going to one of Florida’s hottest spots?

If you’re a veteran of Biketoberfest, you know there will be plenty of cold beer, hot bikes and hot women on Main Street Daytona Beach. You also know all about the same old party places you’ve gone very year.

If you are one of those guys or gals who wants something a little different this year, if you want to get out of Main Street this year and get more riding in, here are some of my favorite hotspots in the area.

Remember, some areas are still recovering from Hurricane Ian, so you might want to call ahead and check in with lodging spots, though most bars and restaurants will be open.

Eat, Drink, Shop and Listen to Music

Iron Horse Saloon, Ormond Beach: This is probably my favorite of favorites. You can eat, drink, shop, listen to great live music and just have a good, old-fashioned rowdy time with other bikers.

The Iron Horse has more pure atmosphere than any biker spot in the area, in my humble opinion. It’s jammed with bikes night and day, so you might be in for some tight maneuvering, but it’s worth it.

Broken Spoke Saloon: If you want to see a girl on a swing –  and who among us does not? – the Broken Spoke is a short walk down the street from the Iron Horse.

I like it because it’s outside and there is plenty of room to park and move around. You can play horseshoes. It’s right in the middle of the Ormond Beach action and they usually have great music.

Drinking With Ghosts

The Last Resort: Drink with the ghost of Aileen Wuornos, the Florida serial killer and hitch-hiking prostitute who shot and killed at least seven of her male clients.

She was executed in 2002 and her last words were: “I would just like to say I’m sailing with the rock, and I’ll be back, like Independence Day.”

Maybe she’ll show up on the stool beside you when you’re having a cool one at this lowdown, bona fide biker bar in Port Orange.

Breakfast and Bloody Marys

Cheyenne Saloon: Great bike and people-watching spot in Palatka, a scenic drive from Daytona. Inside is mostly for locals while rally goers usually congregate around the outside bar.

Laid-back atmosphere and excellent Bloody Marys. A lot of bikers go for breakfast here after a wild night.

Renegades: This is a beautiful spot on the St. Johns River, in Crescent City, and it’s well worth the drive.

It has a huge tiki bar area that looks like something straight out of a Jimmy Buffett song. For such a snazzy place, the beer is more than reasonable, especially during big events like Biketoberfest.

Relief from the Crowds

Pirates Pub: Have you ever had a spot you just really liked, and couldn’t say why? This is that spot for me. It’s in Paisley, a very nice drive from the Daytona area along backcountry roads, and a good place to get some relief from Biketoberfest and Bike Week crowds.

Pool tables, good parking in the shade and friendly bartenders.
