Big Wheel Road King Features Compontents From Ness and Yaffe

If you were to stick all of the best custom Harley parts in the world in a blender, this is likely what you’d pour out afterwards.

There’s not a lot to love about winter. Our bikes are on a battery tender under a cover, and the return of riding season is several long months away. However, one of our favorite parts of this time of year is the famous Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona.

This year, the auction takes place from January 11 through 19. There are a few interesting motorcycles crossing the auction block, sharing the spotlight with rare muscle cars and other cool classics.

This 2012 Harley-Davidson Road King is an impressive custom in the big wheel style. Like it or not, this style has been gaining in popularity for several years now, and this is one of the better examples we’ve seen.

Someone spent a lot of money building this Road King into their dream machine. It features high-dollar components from some of the biggest names in the world of custom Harley-Davidsons.

Both the frame and the engine come from Paul Yaffe, while the front end comes from none other than Arlen Ness. Both are widely considered to be legends by custom motorcycle fans. One look at this bike, and it’s easy to see why.

That 103 cubic inch Yaffe engine was further upgraded with Screamin’ Eagle parts and a race tuner. Candy red paint was applied over a Chupa fender and tank, along with the rest of the bike.

That beautiful, deep red paint is offset by an intricate black and silver paisley pattern. It pairs well with the machined aluminum and black wheels and engine accents. Those wheels come from Renegade Shelby, and they’re connected to the rest of the bike through a cushy Legends air ride suspension.

Despite the lack of chrome, this bike is likely to attract attention wherever it goes. We’re sure that the owner is hoping that it attracts a lot of attention from bidders when it crosses the auction block next month. We’ll certainly have our eyes on it.
