Arizona Harley Dealer Seeks Vendors for Patriot Day Celebration
Superstition Harley-Davidson in Apache Junction prepares to honor heroes of September 11 for sixth annual gathering.
September 11, 2001 would have been another day for most of us. Instead, it became one of the darkest, most tragic moments in the history of the United States. On December 18 of that year, then-U.S. President George W. Bush signed a resolution into law that would declare September 11 to be forever known as Patriot Day, with the first such day occuring in 2002.
With Harley-Davidson woven deep into the fabric of the nation’s heart and soul, it only makes sense for it and its dealers to honor the heroes of that day on Patriot Day every year. Such is the case with Apache Junction, Arizona’s Superstition Harley-Davidson. According to local newspaper Apache Junction/Gold Canyon Independent, the dealer is looking for vendors for its sixth annual Patriot Day gathering.
In previous years, Superstition Harley-Davidson has honored Patriot Day with a memorial ride, then a small celebration of freedom featuring live music, bikini bike washes, raffles, free food, and a handful of vendors peddling whatever they’ve got to those in attendance.
“We are in the first steps of working with Superstition Harley-Davidson to put on an event to recognize and celebrate Patriot Day 2019,” said Mike Kyzer, secretary and treasurer of local rider-oriented non-profit Friends of the Kids. “The event will be held on Saturday, September 7, at Superstition Harley-Davidson, 2910 West Apache Trail.”
“It will involve each organization putting up a table, handing out flyers, discussing their mission with the public, possibly holding raffles or 50/50s and networking to share challenges and success stories,” Kyzer said.
Vendors interested in participating in Superstition Harley-Davidson’s sixth annual Patriot Day celebration need only contact the dealer’s events and marketing coordinator, Brina Brown, at bbrown@superstitionhd.com. There will be no cost to set up a spot on the lot.
