24th Annual York Bike Night: A Celebration of Harley-Davidson

Milwaukee may be Harley’s hometown, but York, Pennsylvania is where many bikes are born.

The town of York, Pennsylvania is best known to Harley-Davidson enthusiasts as the place where Softails, Touring models, trikes, and CVO bikes are born. Once a year, it becomes a mecca for motorcyclists, who turn the town into a festival built around a tour of the famous factory.

The event is called York Bike Night, and takes place every year at the end of September. This year, the event ran on Saturday, September 21, and, as always, coincided with the Harley-Davidson York Vehicle Assembly Plant Open House. York Dispatch, a local newspaper, was on the scene at York Bike Night and got some amazing photos, some of which are seen here.

Celebrating its 24th year, the event offers Harley-Davidson fans the opportunity to get up close and personal, seeing the new 2020 models at the assembly plant before most folks. The factory open house is just one part of the event, however.

York Bike Night is part of York Bike Week, which started on Wednesday September 18 and continued through Sunday September 22. The event had it all this year, from live music to vendors and even a parade of motorcycles. Of course, most of the largest motorcycle rallies can’t brag about having the star attraction of a real Harley-Davidson factory tour.

After bikers watched the new bikes being built, they were able to take the bikes out on demo rides at a nearby dealership. We can’t think of anything cooler than seeing the newest Harley-Davidson motorcycles being built, and then riding them right afterward.

Visitors on Thursday and Friday actually got to see the bikes moving down the line, while Saturday visitors were treated to an open house with the line shut down for the weekend. Regardless, all visitors to the York factory were treated to a great opportunity to see where Harley-Davidson builds many of its motorcycles.

We’re excited for the 2020 Harley-Davidsons, but we’re also excited for next year’s York Bike Night festivities. 2020 will be the 25th year of the event, and we’re sure they’ll have something big planned – maybe a CVO LiveWire!
