2019 Heritage Classic: H-D Forums Marketplace Bike of the Week
A beautiful bike tells a sad story, but we hope this has a happy ending.
This week’s HDForums Marketplace Bike of the Week is a bit of a downer, and we apologize in advance. However, one of our members is in trouble, and we want to help any way we can. The least we can do is get their bike on the front page, in front of as many people as possible.
The sad truth is, we don’t always get to choose when we sell our beloved Harleys. Sometimes, money troubles or health problems force a sale. In this case, it’s the latter.
Forum member Marks57, who hails from Dallas, Texas, is selling his stunning 2019 Heritage Classic. It’s almost brand new with just 300 miles on it, and has been personalized to suit the owner with some very tasteful upgrades.
However, Marks57 is currently dealing with stage 4 kidney failure, and cannot ride his motorcycle. Many members have chimed in on the thread to offer support and offer advice. It’s just one example of the many things that make this community great.
The two-tone white and blue paint job, combined with the blacked-out trim and minimal chrome, remind us of one of our favorite classic Harleys, the EL Knucklehead. The accessories added by Marks57 really tie the whole look together, and we’d be proud to have this in our garage.
Marks57 added a diamond-stitch Corbin Classic solo seat that really lends the bike a retro look. A passenger pillon and backrest is included, as well as the stock seat.
A set of black LA Choppers 10″ high-rise bars and Get-A-Grips add some additional style to this Softail, along with the Willie G derby cover, floorboards, pegs, brake pedal, and shifter rod.
Marks57 also improved the performance of his bike with a Stage 1 Screamin’ Eagle upgrade. The bike breathes through a set of chrome Vance & Hines Twin Slash slip-ons. The exhaust is just about the only chrome on the bike – just like legendary Harley-Davidsons of yore.
All in all, Marks57 went his own way customizing his new Softail. He bucked trends to create a style all his own, inspired by classic Harley-Davidson motorcycles of the past. We hope that he can get his asking price of $20,000 out of the bike, and that he gets better soon – we want to see him back on two wheels!
