Willie G. Davidson, better know as just Willie G., still holds a position at Harley-Davidson, despite retiring a few years ago. At age 82, he’s the chief styling officer emeritus and brand ambassador and he even still has an office. The titles don’t him justice, though, as one of the most important people the company has ever known.

Among other things, he’s designed the FX Super Glide, the Heritage Softail Roadster, the Low Rider, the Fat Boy, the Street Glide, and the V-Rod. By recognizing the trends of the riders and listening to the customers, he brought non-traditional ideas, customization, and new fashion to the American brand helping it to grow one of the biggest and most notable bike companies in the world. Check out what Maxim had to say about the boss, including an interview with Ralph Gilles, head of design for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
