Default Oil Light

Would too much oil in crankcase cause the oil light to come on?

Default RE: Oil Light

The engine uses a dry sump system and the pump pulls it from the oil tank, through the engine and back to the tank, so the crankcase does not hold a lot of oil. Oil light on could be the sender, oil pump, plugged or kinked lines, or electrical problem with the light wiring.

Default RE: Oil Light

at a low idle (hot engine) the oil light would come on but as you throttle up it should go off
