Default Gas leaking out of carb

My bendix carb on my 75 leaks fuel out of what looks like an overflow hole in the top of the lower portion when it is warmed up.&nbsp\\; If I take the lower portion of the carb off, and play with the float, it will stop.&nbsp\\; I know the float lifts the (piece I can't remember name of) and stops the flow of fuel.&nbsp\\; There is never any sludge or foreign material in there, and I sprayed the entire carb out carb cleaner.&nbsp\\; I am planning on rebuilding the carb, or do I go with another for higher performance?&nbsp\\; I have a XLCH bored .040" over.

Sounds like you could use a float level adjustment, and maybe the float needle is worn and fuel is getting by it when the float lifts it into the seat.

If float level is correctly set according to the manual..(easy to do).........then I'd rebuild the carb...New gaskets..float needle...etc.......And clean it correctly while apart in the process.
As far as the Bendix goes. It's personal taste but I LOVE a Bendix as they are simple, dependable and will feed plenty of fuel to your engine.

Well the float level was at 3/16".&nbsp\\; I rebuilt the carb and bought a new float.... It still leaks.&nbsp\\; I found some info that changing the float level to 5/16" fixes the problem.
