Default shovelhead running

my friend and&nbsp\\;I replaced the gas tanks on his 1980 electra glide due to the seams leaking. It ran for a few short trips but started running like it was out of gas.by fiddling with the choke and reserve valve you can get it going only to have it shut off again. I changed the fuel line&nbsp\\;but that didnt&nbsp\\;help at all.&nbsp\\;After its shut down you can hear gas pressure also new gas caps can anyone help?&nbsp\\;

Sounds like a vent issue,pinched hose maybe?
If the tank doesn't vent from a hose maybe the wrong style unvented gas caps?

Default RE: shovelhead running

by gas pressure do u mean u can hear a sucking hiss at the gas cap?&nbsp\\; left tank cap is unvented so when shes on the stand the gas doesnt leak out, right cap should be vented.&nbsp\\; look at the bottoms of both caps while ur holding them they should be different.
