Default Chain oiler went crazy

Today I started the Shovel and let it run for about 1-2 min to warm up.&nbsp\\; I looked under the bike and oil was really dripping fast out of the drive chain oiler and making a pool under the bike.&nbsp\\; I rode some and everything was back to normall (about 1-2 drops per min).&nbsp\\; It is a S&amp\\;S oil pump and the screw on the oil pump was all the way tight.&nbsp\\; Any ideas?&nbsp\\; Would the high oil pressure at start up make more oil flow to the chain?

High pressure due to cold oil does make sense. I hope it ain't anything other than that. I take it though, that this is the first time you've seen this...

Could you have the case breather line routed to the chain and not an oiler?
It's fairly common for the check ball to stick causing this to happen.

&nbsp\\;that would be my guess too. how long has it sat not running? if it's been awhile oil will leak past the oil pump check ball and flow onto the lower end. that oil gets pumped out of the breather when its started up.

The bike is run every few days.&nbsp\\; I will double check the hoses.&nbsp\\;

on my 80 FLH when i replaced the inner primary the oiler inside slightly slliped out the back....... so when the bike would heat up it would vomit alot of oil.&nbsp\\; maybe pull the derby cover off and check if your oiler is intact

Ok, did some more searching on this.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; It turns out the rear dive chain oiler is not hooked up at all.&nbsp\\;This POS website wont save my post! [:@]

Hey Bogley:&nbsp\\; Guess we both have been out rid'n... Good to hear from you....Ditto the primary and chain oil both closed off. So now grab ya some PJ1 Blue Label&nbsp\\;(great for O-rings and does not fly off), and you have now fixed&nbsp\\;two of the big design errors on our Shovels....&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;
