a few years ago i restored a 47 indian and ordered most of my parts from jerry greer. the parts were just as good if not better than original, they fit, worked well and look great. while they weren't cheap they were well worth the priceI am now working on a 42 knuck. last night i was trying to put a v-twin shifter kit on a set of repop tanks. every thread had to be chased with a tap or die, and the gate just didn't fit the tank as well as it should have. the shifter itself is going to have to be bent before it will slip through the gate. here is my question are there any suppliers out there that make really quality repop harley parts or are we stuck with cheap chinese crap? i bought some parts from "old dude " at ustis but haven't tried them for fit yet. they at least look like quality

Aftermarket parts arent the greatest in fit so I would advise start hitting the swap meets.ebay like sites,go to one of the national antique meets for your parts. Many of those items you described were used during many yrs and models.
Old Dude is a great resource. Kick-Start in Wyoming Mi is also a good one. Sure OEM would be the best it is just HIGH $$$$$$. V-Twin is a good resource you just have to know that there will need to be Tweeking, adjusting, fabricating, bending, chasing, cussing, etc. but the price is right! \\; W
