Default WLA UK registration issue

Another question regarding my WLA. It's been stood around for donkeys years, and has no registration plate or V5. What's the best way to register it, since it doesn't have a 'correct' engine number, but it does have the belly number indication that it is a 1945. I'd obviously like to avoid a 'Q' plate, but if it did get a 'Q', would it have to meet modern specs? (indicators etc).

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Default RE: WLA UK registration issue

You need to find out what the vehicle code or laws for motorcycles are for the UK. For example, here in California, I just registered my chopped shovel. The California DMV needed 3 specific pieces of information when I registered it. The frame MSO (manufacturers statement of orgin), the engine bill of sale or title and the transmission bill of sale. I registered it w/ the Ca DMV and the numbers were inspected by the CHP (California Highway Patrol) which allowed me to bring the bike in on the back of a pickup (non-running) so long as those 3 items were mounted on the frame with wheels and handlebars on it. The gave me my vehicle registration as a "Special Construction" vehicle. Ca DMV goes by what the frame is and not the engine even though the engine I have is a Harley 1983 shovelhead. I had no horn, turn signals nor taillight on it and they still gave me my sticker. My bike is running now and I still don't have any of those items except a taillight. Good luck and let us know.
