Default Battery ground wire

I have two problems:

On my 39UL the ground wire is grounded to a bolt for the buddyseat helper spring, this does not seem right to me, where should it go? Still the six volt.

The second is how can I keep the positive terminal from getting all built up with corrosion and having it fall onto the oil tank? I have tried grease, vaseline and regular battery terminal grease with no luck.

Other than disconnecting the batt every time and then having to flash the regulator what can be done?

Default RE: Battery ground wire

Thanks, I checked out the schematic in my manual and figured it just dropped to ground on the frame but was wondering if it may have had to go to the - coil or something strange.

I have problems when I run the spot lights and figured a better ground may be in order.

Thanks again.
