Default Leaky knuck

Hi Guys,
Yes,i know they all leak but this too much.
I know there is the primary chain oiler and the crankcase breather.i have checked both of these. They are fine.It seems to be coming from my engine sprocket shaft. If i park the bike it will leak out of there till its all gone.
I assume it has something to do with wet sumping and maybe the oil pump check valve not closing off.Could this be it.??
I have been all over the bike.Tighened everthing, checked everything.
All the time though just a steady drip. Not fast, maybe one drip every five mins.
any and all advice is appreciated.

One more thought...there is an oil retaining bushing that is a press fit into the left crankcase roller bearing bushing. Any chance one or both are worn out and need to be replaced?

That bushing could be scored and oil seal lip cut or worn too.Make sure oil tank isnt over serviced of course and that oil is returning to tank w/bike running.

Hi guys, just an update.Did a overhaul of the oil pump and all looked good.i bought a new sifton replacement just to update the oil supply if i had to change it.
next ,i'm doing as a couple of guys suggested about the left hand seal for the motor sprocket.james gaskets have a kit so i've got one on the way.i got myself a delema now.i couldnt decide on which front end to run yet.I got a springer and a stock wide glide front end.they both give a unique look.i guess either is better than the horrible stock narrow glide thats on it now.
Anyway chaps,i will let you know how i go with the seal.i should have decided on the front end by then.
Safe rideing my friends.Happy trails.pete.

It has to be your oil pump check valve causing your oil problem. If it is not seating it could be pitted and need to be lapped in or you could have a piece of trash not letting the check ball seat completely.Your bottom end should never have enough oil in it to reach the motor shaft seal,if you do have enough oil to reach the seal your lower end is way to full and again that would be caused by the check valve.

I'll go with the ball check valve theory! I would go to Tedd's purchase part number 12-1490 It's the whole kit hopefully the seat in the pump unit is not cracked Try this first if you need a whole pump assembly Tedd's p/n is 12-1947 OR if the oiler is working properly ( oil getting back to the oil tank) and it only bothers you when is parked and the oil feed hose is 3/8 rubber hose. take a big set of vise grips spray it bright orange and clamp the feed hose shut when your not running!!! The bright paint is to remind you that the hose is pinched off before you go don't ya know put the grips in the tool box until its time to stop

The shaft seal which as he stated, leaks while bike is sitting-storage-will also leak when bike is running.Change the seal.
