This article applies to the Harley Davidson Sportster and Dyna Glide.

When you're in the market for a new Harley Davidson, the Sportster and the Dyna glide compare rather closely. Which one you will get is entirely up to you; however, this article will help you make that decision. Here we will compare prices, specifications, and we will even cover what other riders had experienced with both of these American-made machines. So if you're ready to make your decision, read this guide before purchasing!

Price

The price of the bike is a huge factor in determining which one you will end up getting. Whether you go for older or newer, the price will change slightly, but the ratio will remain equal. The 2015 Harley Davidson Sportster can be yours for anywhere between $8,249 to $10,849, depending on the model and engine type.

The Dyna Glide is more expensive than the Sportster at roughly $15,799. This is a huge price difference, which could cause a lot of riders to go more towards the Sportster; however, you can't make that decision until you fully compare each model.

Size

Size is a determining factor in your big purchase, depending on how big you are, how tall you are, and how fast you want your Harley's response to be. The Sportster is a smaller, lighter bike than the Dyna Glide. The Sportster features two engines, the 883 and 1200, while the Dyna Glide features a 1340 Big Twin 80 engine. However, the Dyna is a bigger and heavier bike. So even though you will still feel a difference in acceleration, it won't be too crazy. With that in mind, the Dyna Glide won't be such a push-over on the freeway; it stands its ground better when cars go past.

Ride

At the end of the day, you buy a motorcycle to ride it. The Sportster and the Dyna Glide ride very differently. The Sportster has a high seat, which makes the center of gravity awkwardly high. Some people like it; however, when you say the word "cruise," the Dyna Glide steps in front of the Sportster with its low seat, low stance, and comfortable feel. So, it's up to you whether you want a small, feisty bike like the Sportster, or a confident, heavy bike like the Dyna Glide.

In the end, it's all a matter of preference. Are you willing to spend that much more money for the Dyna? Do you want to sit high or low? The Sportster will make you sit high up, while the Dyna will feel relaxed. Some people prefer lighter bikes, in which case the Sportster is a better choice. Determine your budget, and go try both motorcycles out. Sit on them and drive them, then decide whether you want the big, heavy bike or the small, light one.
