I was sitting around at Open House B-Sing with the dealer I bought my V-rod from. He opened his first shop in our home town the day I got my drivers license. Yah, I had to wait an extra day for God to invent dirt to drive on. Anyway, Rick went to grab another soda and one of his mechs asked me if the black on red Night Rod was mine. I said yes, so he proceded to tell me about how he was going to smoke my Night Rod with his Night Train. Rick had been standing behind this joker the whole time. After the kid was done, Rick said "So, you are going to take a $17,000 bike, dump another 10 grand in it and HOPE you get a perfect launch to out run another Harley that is bone stock and only cost $14,500?"
Thanks...I just bought the vrod. Last bike I had was a fatboy. The rod is so superior in speed and power. I'm just not up on specs of these new beasts. And I've heard all the crap about its not really a Harley as I'm sure others have. All I know is its made in the US and I am totally obsessed with it. I ran it last Saturday on the interstate. Got it up to 120 and got a little scared to be honest. It felt like it had more! What are riders posting on top speeds for the vrod?
If your V-Rod is all that and a bag of chips, I guess I could dust off my Hayabusa and we could see what you can do.
There is always the guy that brings that crap up, we all know that a Hayabusa is fast and that it will outrun a Nightrod, congrats to you for figuring that out!

I'd run against your Hayabusa on the 1/4 mile. But not for top speed.
