Was curious about average fuel mileage on a 03 V-Rod. Bought one for my wife and get about 100 miles before low fuel light, is this normal. It has the 3.7 gallon tank, seems to average 37 miles a gallon, and very hard to top of tank . Maybe someone has my same experience. Thanks.

37 is about average you will never get 3.7 gallons in the tank.
The most I ever was able to get in the tanks was 3.2 gallons
I since installed a "Ricks tank" and now I have 4.9 gallons usable fuel
its real nice being able to go 170 miles on 1 tank of fuel

After riding double with my wife on Sunday, on the back roads letting the bike do what V-rods do, then to work and back yesterday playing with my bud on his R-1 on the way home, then again this morning on the way to work, I finally stopped for gas. 108 miles and 2.6 gallons. Sounds like 41.5mpg to me. 91 miles of that riding double. I have gotten a lot better mileage cruising the Interstate with the throttle lock set, 49mpg. That was also with my wife on the back.
I probably average low 30's on my 09 Muscle though I haven't really done a lot of highway driving....and I agree I can't top off the tank becuase of how much the bike leans on the kick stand. One time I made the mistake of trying to hold the bike upright with one hand and then pump the gas with the other........needless to say I got gas everywhere and had to wash the bike
Wife gets around 34 around town and 38 to 40 on highway, depending on how fast running. She has 04 VRCB with Bub jug huggers. Put on a Unlimited Engineering 5 gal tank and made all the difference in the world on trips. Has Sundowner seat, touring windshield, pull back handbars, reduced reach pegs. She loves bike and we have taken a 3500 and 4300 mile trips the last 2 yrs, did trips in 2 weeks each.
Yesterday at 89.6 miles into our ride, our 06 D took 2.02 gallons. Our son's 82 Honda GL500 took 1.81 gallons. My wife and I were riding double as usual. This was all back roads and even 16 miles of mountain in second and third gears, doing a bit over the posted 35mph in a national park.
