check out the headlight and the goofy mufflers. maybe yam feels threatened by the vrod and needed a clone to compete?

 

my only issue with that bike is that goofy exhuast system. itd be nice if they got the vrod up to 200hp

200hp and alot af VERY nice features... i think it is a nice bike... dont get me wrong... i am still going to buy my V rod next month but the Vmax is a great bike and Star is constantly pushing the technoligy on their motors... getting that out of a 4 is AMAZING... plus the slipper clutch... very nice bike

 

price is pretty high for a Yamahahaha $17,900

 

V-max has been around a lot longer than the V-rod. It's still a fast cruiser. Jump one in the straights sometime and he'll hand you your ***. They won't follow you in the twisties.

 

The VMax was around long before the Vrod was. The styling is much the same as it was before the Vrod was concepted.
If anything the Vrod was a "clone" of the vmax.

....and the Vmax will smoke a Vrod every day of the week. I would love to have one.

 

It still is a throw away bike.
