Interesting new shock.

I had their 440's on my last ride and never really could get them pre-loaded to provide the ride I was expecting after spending the kind of $$ Progressive charges.

IAS is Progressive's patented design, it stands for Inertia Active System. Its made to separate wheel movement from chassis movement. You'll see that the IAS shocks mount opposite of their other shocks, the shock body is on the top.

What about preload when packing a passenger and/or luggage? Is this the shock that's adjustable by hand?

Edit: Nevermind. Found it.

I haven't seen any posts on this product yet, so I'd like to take this time to introduce what we think is a cool new product, Progressive's new 940 series shock.

Specifically designed to deliver a comfortable ride at a 1" lowered stance. Built around our "Best in Class" IAS technology, The Ultra Touring shocks utilize all the suspension travel provided by these 13" eye to eye units, but provide a 1" lowered ride height. The unique Ultra Touring spring combination not only delivers a lowered ride height while its being ridden, but also while its on the side stand.

Fits 1980-UP Harley Davidson Touring models.

I have bought shocks for Phat before. Greatest prices on the web, at the time...2006. (I made a spreadsheet) Great people to deal with and had a ton of information.

Are they going be offering a 13" set? Really don't want to lower my Road Glide any, I do to much two up riding and I'm not getting any lighter!

Unfortunately, they are not going to offer a 940 series in that length. They said the 13" shocks usually provide enough travel, so the features of the 940 or not really needed. The closest match for you would be the 440 series shocks. You can take a look at those by Clicking Here

what shock do you recommend to replace the stock air shocks on a 2009 Street Glide?

These would work fine on a FLHX. They are both 12" shocks.
