Make sure there will be a Bike Week before you book anything. The City of MB has canceled all vendor permits for May 2009 and is trying very hard to stop the bike weeks. There was supposed to be a public meeting tonight so both sides could present their cases.
That is just inside of the city limits not the surrounding county and other city's. It appears everyone was able to traverse around MB in the spring no problem.

Screw MB - there are so many other events to go to rather than worry about where or where not to go if you are a biker in MB. The city screwed up and I am sure their local businesses have lost lots of money as a result.
I don't want to be negative but it will take a lot for me and many of my friends to go back to a MB bike week.

The name Myrtle Beach is kind of tricky. I mean... when they say Myrtle Beach they are referring to Mytrle Beach proper. It is actually a small city that truly only had like 1 thing going on there anyway. That was broadway at the beach. North Myrtle is a totally different city that still embraces Bike Week. So does all the circling cities. So there are plenty of things going on around "Myrtle Beach". I will be there but who really cares right. The way i see it is why let a couple people screw a great thing. Yea i live close. But who cares. At one point Daytona tried to shut down bike week long ago. But people still went and it is stong as ever. Give the Mayor of Myrtle Beach the finger and let him watch his area suffer while the cities beside it bask in the glow of bikers cash!
I have heard some great things about Myrtlewood Villas, but just wanted to ask to see if anyone here has stayed there? Any thoughts or reviews? http://www.myrtlewoodvillas.com/
