RE: Was this designer HAMMERED or what...2008 Victory Vision?
After seing that and going to the site and watching the video, I wonder if the guy get's fired for designing
such a thing, and Harley-Davidson fely sory for him and took im on... (Trust me this is hypathetically)
So given the disign of that Victory... I figure this is what Harley's new employee would likley come up with..
RE: Was this designer HAMMERED or what...2008 Victory Vision?
They'll sell a bunch of 'em to the usual guys who thrive on all the attention that having a new one will bring them before they become mainstream and/or the novelty wears off. Just like guys who bought Runes. By that time most everyone who give any rat's *** about bikes will have come to the realization that they're just butt ugly and were just blinded in the beginning, with the exception of those folks who will buy them 'cause they actually like how they look. The rest of the general public will be just mildly curious in the beginning as usual, and then just go back to being their normal idiot selves, running into us and each other in their cages.
I'll bet (and hope) they'll be good bikes though. It'll do the MOCO some good. If I was going to go that route right now I'd buy a BMW K1200LT. Wouldn't even consider a Gold Wing, and I think the Vision is just a wee bit too far out there for me. The refinement really appeals to me.....then I get my Harley out on the highway once again and realize just how awesome it is.
I really feel sorry for the folks who deprive themselves of riding one and finding out what all of us know firsthand. I guess we'll just have to live with sharing all the usual attention we get with Vision owners for awhile.

It may not be what I'd prefer for my bike in styling, I'd very probably never buy one. But you have to throw them bones for trying to be innovative and new. I don't think you really can say it looks like any one specific makers bike... brings to my mind the amalgamation of a vespa and a gold wing. If I remember thats an air/oil cooled engine, has a 6 gallon tank, 6 speed tranny, and god knows what else. I'm certainly not going to knock someone for dropping the hammer on picking one of these bikes up. Their American made, I'd probably get one before I'd get a wing, if nothing else but to support the home team... so hey power to them, I hope they do well with it.
RE: Was the styling team on CRACK...2008 Victory Vision?
I checked out the victory line of bikes before I pulled he trigger on my flh. The s&s performance packages were something to look at butwhen the07 96" hd's came out I looked no more!!
RE: Was this designer HAMMERED or what...2008 Victory Vision?
I was really looking forward to seeing the new Victory touring bike come out, but that thing is way to jetson for me. It looks uncomfortable to ride very far, let alone touring. Not for me!

Went to the NYC bike show last night. I got there late and looked at the Victory line on the way out. Then I saw it![:-]I thought at first that they rolled a Wing out there to do some kind of comparison. It looks like a cross between a wing and a BMW. I sorta liked the Victory Bikes but that bike is so different from their existing line I'm surprised they want to go in that direction. I personally thought it was ugly and I didn't like the way the gauges were laid out and you were stretched out too far on the bike. I'll keep my Ultra.
