you know what i like about the harley,

the seating positon and almost the ride is like riding a motor scooter. a high powered moto scooter.........

and i like this after 45 years in sports and sports touring bikes

but ,nothing beats a vespa 125 in european city streets .

I'm new here but not to riding,I like this new Victory from what I've seen sofar in the pics.I have a unbiased opinion since I dont own a Harley or a Victory.I see things in many different bikes that apeal to me,like my Guzzi has some old school retro flavor along with some modern tech as well.I think I may fit into the target maket that Victory is shooting for.I want a touring bike thats not boring and has all the latest gadgets but still has that good old made in the USA going for it like Harley.I'm in the market for a sport/Touring bike as my next scoot and I'll be taking a good look at the Vision.I saw some of the early concept pictures of this bike and they actually looked good, not quite as futuristic as the final design.I dont ride two up so the street version would work fine for me.I like all Harleys and would love to have a Streetglide but I've decided that at this time I can only have one bike.If Harley comes out with something that could compete with say a FJR or ST1300 or the sport touring Beemers I would consider going with a Harley.I realize that the bottom line is there is no other bike that is truley like a harley but depending on the person, you can be just as happy with whatever brand and type of bike you own.I know many Harley riders started out on Hondas,Kawi.Suzi etc

I like HD well enough, wouldn't own one but won't bash the brand either. Since you said to post pics here's one of the bikes in the stable.

Pardon the slight hijack... but you just reminded me of something...Madrid, walking through the busiest downtown square in that country, lovely, historic, absolutely crowded with people & then even more people. Little scooters everywhere! cause they make great sense in the city. Noisy, noisy city sounds and people elbow to elbow... two vehicles (on different days) come into the square and it is like a freekin scene from a movie: The whole place goes quiet except for the sight and sounds of the vehicles, a jillion eyes stop and turn and follow the vehicles every move (strong men drool, women melt, kiddies jump up and down)... Oneof those days the vehicle was an HD bagger, the other day it was a huge maxi-scooter similar to the new Vic. Quite an event to watch how everything justfroze for those two bikes.

So, where are we going?

I tell ya though.. as ugly as that sucker is, I would love to get ahold of that taillight lens setup and see if it could be grafted onto my RK customs rear fender.

Thats the only angle of the bike thats cool. everthing else is fugly.

That tailight in MHO is ugly as well. Are you seeing the tailight? or are you looking at the little red thing above the license plate? The tailight is friken huge and reminds me a futuristic robot eyeball.
