I've said it before and I will say it again. You have two worlds of motorcycles, Those that are Harley and those that want to be Harley. If you don't like it your denying the facts and denying yourself. I rode many different bikes in the 24+ years of riding, in fact for many years I hated Harley. The reason was because of pure jealousy that I couldn't own a real bike. This is a Harley forum and not a general motorcycle forum. You support other bikes? fine but don't come to our neighborhood to stir the pot. Your playing with the big boys here and your going to get your feelings hurt if your not careful.

Dude ... you give good bikers a bad name.
"Hated Harley's cause you didn't have one." "Couldn't own a real bike" "Playing with the big boys"
I would never ride with a jerk like you. You have issues and should seek help.
Nice to see your getting personal as well. While we are at it kiss my @ss! And who asked you to ride with me????

Ok - here's my take...after 60,000 miles on my Springer it just started to give me so much trouble (4,000 miles away from home while on tour!) I decided it was time for a new bike. Yup, I did have HD pull the old evo and go thru it so it's 100% now but I had really had it with the old mount:
I went to my HD dealer and sat on EVERY bike there and, much to my surprise, nothin did it for me. Now, bear in mind I had the cash to get what ever I wanted...so...I decided to look elsewhere...just to see. I test rode an Indian Chief (one of my dream bikes...based purely on looks), I looked at the Yamaha Road Liner (I know - ugh a Jap bike!), sat on a few Triumphs and then hit Vic - I test rode the King Pin and it BLEW ME AWAY - huge power - rave reviews from every single bike rag, plus, great things that others have mentioned here (bullet proof engineering, Brembo brakes, inverted forks...blah blah blah)and I really got jazzed on the styling. - I bought one and have been so psyched ever since. This thing runs rings around my HD and has totally rekindled my love of riding like I haven't felt in 10+ years.
YES - I still Have my Springer and will probably always have it (it was a dream for many years before I did grab it back in '90) but rarely take it out.
As far as the Vision - well - at first - yeah...I really did not dig this, but, the more I look at it the more I realize that there are some points that I do like - aside from that...:
A - this thing is for the hard core tourer who's goin' across the country. Sure I do 7 day trips and the KP will be fine for me but some folks want more.
B - Yes - Vic is really pushing the envelope on design and trying to offer something different, unique and still, of high style - three things that many folks are notcomfortable with
C - It's just not for everyone but I think that this kind of experimentalism will be good for the entire industry.
Just my 2 cents (Adjusted for inflation - that's about $4)
