Default Uncrated

Had to work late today, but my buddy was able to get the engine uncrated. I have to pick up some misc. parts at the dealer and hopefully get it mounted tomorrow night.

I was thinking the same thing when I read that post. I did alot of research prior to buying the 120R. I was actually leaning towards a Procharger, but the torque hits a little too late for me. My second thought was high comp heads, etc, but after adding up the costs it was about $3,500. Hell, for 1k more I got the 120R and still have my 103".

I'm right there with you guys! I have read tons of stuff on this motor...and just built a 107" last season. I know the prices and what to expect. This is the best deal going...bar none! And virtually everything I read was positive!

I have a built, ready to run 107" as a spare or I could sell it and reduce the $$$ I have in the 120R. My choice...

That's a good friend, Tony! I have one like that (my buddy Victor)...but I only let him hold stuff, lift the heavy stuff and grab the tools!

I don't know what threads you've been reading about the 120R, but I have one and it has 15000 miles of flawless touring.

Can you provide proof of "alot of write ups saying.....they are coming apart after about 5000 miles"?

Yes, the waiting is the hardest part. For me, waiting to get started. I have a trip to Florida planned for the second week of March. I figured the timing was a little tight to get all the parts, do the install and give it a proper shake down before heading out on a long trip, so I elected to do the install after the trip. Can't believe it's only Feb 1, I WANT IT NOW!

They (HD) don't exactly do a great job packing these motors, all cardboard & foam.
That's a bummer, I was hoping I could reuse a nice crate to re-sell the 110 I'm swapping out.

Ive been looking to get one of the 120's but alot of write ups are saying that they are cheaply made and they are coming apart after about 5000 miles
Do you have a link to any of these writes ups? That is the exact opposite of everything I've read and I've been doing a lot of reading.

I just got mine running today. I had to wait three months for to get my cases bored, crank welded and timken conversion. I went with the Feuling race lifters, cam plate, and oil pump. I also used S&S roller lifters. I was going to use 0.032" head gaskets but I ordered them five weeks ago and they aren't here yet. I was going to buy the crate engine but I found the kit on eBay for $2,000.00.

I have been dealing with this guy for 4 days trying to sell a license plate frame, and he can't even get that completed. so I can only imagine what he knows about the 120R.
