Default True duals or X-pipes?

For those of you who have either system, what are the pros and cons?
I've seen several posts about a slight loss of power (low end) with the true duals, some riders consider it unnoticeable.
What are the benefits of the X-pipe system? Any regrets or disappointment after installing either one?

I have an "X-pipe" (V&H Power Duals). No regrets. The biggest reason riders opt for TDs is the sound. It does have more of a lope at idle. If that's your priority, knock yourself out. Once the throttle is cracked, all benefits of TDs go away until high in the rpm range, where "most" baggers don't spend too much time.

Thanks for the info, hougz.
Do you have a 96" or 103" on your SG?

I have True Duals. The loss of bottom end is noticeable and the sound is only slightly better. Switching to Supertrapp Fatshots helped the low end somewhat.

No matter what you buy, I'd look for headers, that are coated inside and out, with ceramic. This provides for a 300 degree drop in temps for the rider/pass. and is VERY noticeable. If you cant find coated headers, get whatever you buy coated locally. You may not be able to get the inside coated locally. This wouldn't help the heat near as much.

I got rid of my Rinehart True Duals because I didn't like the way the left side pipe came out of the back jug, and then right down to the left. Vance & Hines Power Duals put the left side back under the frame. A whole lot less heat too.

Here's a dyno graph that Doc sent me before upgrading my 2012 FLHTK with Cams, Pipes, and A/C. Eight more foot pounds of torque down low where you need it. I did end up going with the SE 254e cams, Rush true duals and the Ness Big Sucker and am very happy with the build.

I put true duals for issues, it worked somewhat but with a slightly noticeable
loss of power on the lower end. For performance the way to go is 2-1 though.I don't like the look of 2-1 on a bike with hard bags though.

I have had both. Dresser duals on my RKC (95 kit and ANdrews 26 cams) and Power Duals on my SESG. When I installed the RKC headers I didn't notice much loss of lower end but the sound improvement was noticable. Certainly made the idle more lopey.

I think they are both decent options and have their own unique look.

Talking Power duals / Dresser duals . . .

Just FYI the dresser duals will not drag the ground , and the power duals will . I just got a 2012 ultra limited and had it lowered 1 inch front and back . The power dual will drag very easily , and the dresser does'nt at all . I'm only talkin about lowered bikes , there is not a issue if your bike isn't lowered !
