Just fired off an e-mail to some good friends of mine at the service department of my local dealership checking on the validity of your post. As soon as I get a return reply I'll post it...

Thanks. Some other folks on that forum had spoken to their dealers and were told they hadn't heard of it, but who knows. I personally don't have an 07 so it doesn't affect me, just posting for those that do.

Talked to a service mangr yesterday. He said the motor co is doing a recall to put a new load in the ecms to fix the pinging issues. The bikes that fail the worst are the heavy bikes, mainly anything with a fairing.
I know how this forum likes to rag on HD, but this is encouraging that the company is admitting there is a problem and is working to correct it.

As I understand it....the new flash had to to be EPA approved. Seems the standard map, due to manufacturing variations in cylinder head volume, injector flow rates..etc.. was resulting in burned / melted/ broken rear pistons from combustion chamber temps and the effects of excessive detonation (might as well hit the piston with a big hammer).Whats going to be done besides download is unknown and what about those of us w/SERT or PC111 upgrades?
