I am looking for a good air cleaner to put on my 2006 Ultra Classic. I put Python Predator slip-ons on, and am looking for a good air cleaner to go with it. I am leaning towards the S&S Teardrop, is there another A/C that is a good bang for buck?

I'd suggest the Ness Big Sucker- ebay, easternpc offers good pricing, just check for the correct part for your bike. The easiest, cleanest install.

I have the S&S on my 2006 Ultra. I like it. Old School but functional. Everyone else seems to have the Big Sucker and etc. So this sets my bike a little different from the others. Plus I picked up a S&S Desperado for my 2006. I think S&S calls it Slasher now. The cover looks the same as an S&S stock cover but has slits cut in the housing to allow more air to flow. I have a 93 Fatboy that has the S&S E set up and the covers will inter change. And I did put in a K&N filter to boot on the Ultra

 

Zippers high flow and be done with it.

 

I like the S&S for the fact that its not something everyone else has. I like the AN Big Sucker, but I'm not really finding any performance differences between the stage I/stage II. The Big Sucker "Derby Cover" only comes in stage I, and the stage II only gives a couple style options... is there a big performance difference?

 

I put one on my '11 RGU and love how it looks and performs. This is one of those issues where everyone has an opinion but the only one that matters is yours.

I was told that unless I planned on some serious engine mods that it will perform just fine.

 

Most of the big names make a good air cleaner setup.
Most are less than the S&S , but they use the football cover and the S&S comes with the teardrop style cover.
I really like the look (kinda old school) of the S&S and I haven't seen any on late model bikes in my area.
I will be getting the S&S soon for my ultra , if just to be different.
