Try using Spectro's new syn trans oil, got about 2500miles since changing to it and seems to help cut down on most of the fifth gear noise, Most NOT all

Rick, In an earlier post in a different thread, you said your clatter went away. Did it come back?

This past week I took the plunge and spent the money to do the modifications suggested by some of you wo thought it would make a difference with the clatter and excessive heat I have been experiencing on my '07 RKC. Here is what I did:
SERT= $460
S/E Stage I Kit= $140
Rindhart True Duals= $900
IDS Kit= $255 (discounted by dealer when I complained of clatter; lists for $305)
Labor= $150 (2 hours @ $75/hr)
Dyno= $300 (4 hours @ $75/hr)
Total= $2205 (plus tax)
Here is what I discovered:
I picked up my bike yesterday and the clatter and heat issues are completely resolved. Dyno showed it peaked out at 74.5 HP. It still shakes a little a traffic lights, just like a RKC shouldwith an engine sitting on three rubber mounts, but it is so smooth in shifting and I have fallen in love with this bike (again)!! I am now having to figure out if I'm in 5th gear, since the whine and clatter are gone. Did I like spending that kind of cash on a bike I bought in April? No! But I can reassure you that if you are willing to do what is necessary to make your bike run the way you can and know it should, you won't be disappointed.

No clatter at all!!!! I even drove it for a couple of hours just to get it good and hot and see if I could tell a difference (since I previously had noticed the clatter getting louder as the Syn 3 got hotter). There was no difference between cold or hot Syn 3. I literally can not tell when I'm in fifth gear anymore!!!
