Man, I am about ready to put my 07 away and ride the 05 Deuce. Let Harley find out what's wrong with these 07's before I get killed on it. All I need is my tranny locking up at 65 mph............They have only been out a short time and seems like lots of issues coming up.

Is this normal for a new model year?

Did they not do thorough testing on these "all new drivetrains" before they released them for sale to the unsuspecting? From the responses...apparently not![X(]

My '06 35th Ann. Superglide has not had a transmission issue....thank goodness. I'm kind of stunned by the number of posts already.....and we know this is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.....not everyone knows about the Forum or looks at it. HD will fix the problems........their reputation depends on it.
Friend of mine was thinking of trading his '03 Ultra for a new one..........not yet. He's gonna wait.....won't be worth any less later in the year.

I'm keeping my '04 FLTRI forever. Gear Driven Cams go in next week. May repaint this Winter. Might buy a watercooled bagger when they come up with one.

I don't mind so much there being issues that need worked out. I just don't want to be told "gee I don't know what's wrong" when they aren't trying to do something to fix it. Start replacing something..somewhere instead of looking for computer codes. The only way you learn it to dig in!!!!!!

The dealer where I bought mine told me he has sold 15 '07 touring bikes. Five of the 15 including mine are clunkers.

Ive read many more posts of happy 07 owners than a few that had a real trans problem, not a whinning 5th gear, this is do to being a straight cut gear its going to do that. I think ive read about all the 07 trans threads and remember only one or two that had to have the trans worked on, any year ,any brand will have a few that have problems. This motor and trans was tested for more than two years in bikes driven hundreds of thousands of miles, and the 6 speed trans was stock in all 06 dynas, so a few problems are just that a "few" problems. If you notice, most issues are posted by new to harley owners or owners that have moved up to a ultra, due to all the fairings and lowers, noise is more heard than other models.

If thats the case, I would drop it at the dealer and demand a harley rep meet with me and get it fixed or replaced.
