(So it seems most of you guys recommend the Heritage bars on the Roadking.) YES (Can these bars be swapped without changing cables and wires?) YES
(Is this a do it yourself mod?) YES

Very smart going to the RK in lieu of the Fatty. I went from a Heritage to RK, and made the following changes for comfort. Wild One Chubby 508's to bring the bars back to me, ran the wiring internally, and put a Corbin Seat with detachable backrest on for relaxing. Just these two changes made a world of difference in the comfort area. You'll get lots of opinions, but you need to find what works for YOU. Once you do, you're going to love that Road King. Congrats

Good choice going with the RK over the Fatty. I've had both and there really isn't even a comparison. Next stop, Ultra! Good luck and enjoy the ride.

I'd been saying that my next bike would be a Road King, but I stuck to my evil ways last January and
traded my 01 RG in on a new 09 RG. But last weekend I stopped in at an out of town dealership and they had
a standard RK painted in that new Flame blue pearl/Silver pearl that almost got me thinking it was trade in time.
What color did you say you were getting?

Heritage bars and Sundowner seat made my RK fit me just right. I'm 6'2" but I still felt like I was leaning forward with the stock bars. Congrats on the Road King! I think you made the right choice.

You made a wise choice for a scoot. I'm only 5'10" tall with 30" inseams and I can sit flat footed fairly easy on my Road King Classic. Even with the stock seat, I'm pretty comfortable. My only problem is the stock handlebars don't have enought reach for me.
