Default New Helmet Lock

I ride an 09 Ultra. I just bought an expensive helmet and don't particularly want to leave it on my bike available for anyone to pick up. I bought HDs lock and now need to figure out the best place for it. The pipes get so hot that I hate to let it hang too close to the pipes. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Other side of the crash bar from the pipes works well.

I mounted my helmet lock to the rails in front of the saddle bags. Let the passenger floor board down and no problem with the helmets touching anything hot. When touring the tourpack is too full to put helmets in. I just did not like the idea of leaving carbon fiber helmets hangning on the handle bars.

I put mine on the handle bar and run a small pad lock thru the D rings and around the clutch lever. The ball on the end prevents the lock from sliding off. Cut the D or cut the strap and the helmet is useless.

Like Goodies said, Mine is located more towards the inner left side of the front crash bar.

All these work well, I've seen guys take a gun lock, they kind with a padlock and cable and run it through anything available ( engine guards, passenger grabrail, saddlebag guards etc)...work very well.
Of course if a thief wants it, say goodby to it.
Sometimes you can get these gunlocks for free at Police Departments etc...they give them away for child safety in the home.

I have mine mounted on my right side crash bar, right above my footpeg. When locked, it keeps it off the ground and away from anything hot.
